Happy New Year!
As we begin a new year, we would like to thank you. Thank you for sharing your lives and your stories with us over the last year. Some of you celebrated – adding to your family, retiring, or moving to a new home. Some of you have mourned – losing loved ones, going through a divorce, or struggling with health issues. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your lives. We value the opportunity to share these moments with you.
We’d also like to thank you for helping us hit big milestones in our company in 2018. We were able to exceed our growth goals to pull out our biggest year in the history of our company, and we increased our community partner financial support and donated more volunteer time in our communities than ever before.
Here are a few other highlights:
In January, Lauren Cooper completed the process to become an Investment Advisor Representative (IAR) at Longview.
In February, Longview received the Compass Award from the Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville “in recognition of your expertise and commitment to improving the quality of life in our community through philanthropy.”
March was an eventful month. Jeff Jones was asked to become a regular contributor to US News & World Report. Wes Johnson received the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) designation. Debbie Wright celebrated her 10th year at Longview.
Not to be outdone, Jeff Cedarholm completed the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) designation in April. We also attended Kids to Love’s Denim & Diamonds event in support of Davidson Farms home for girls.
In June, Jessica Smith was named on InvestmentNews’ 2018 40 Under 40 list and joined the Board of Directors at the Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville.
In July, Andrew Gipner was named as Leadership of Huntsville’s Connect Class 21 Co-Chair.
In August, we teamed up with Rocket City SGO to help them host their Back to School Bash, a fun back to school party for their scholarship winners.
September was an eventful month. We attended the ELM Foundation’s Little Miracles Luncheon, the Community Foundation’s Summit on Philanthropy, and the 1st Annual Rockin’ for Rett Huntsville Dinner hosted by Girl Power 2 Cure. Jessica dressed up like Spidey to go “Over the Edge” to fundraise for Kids to Love, repelling 160ft down the Regions building in downtown Huntsville. Jeff Jones was named as Chair of the South Region of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors.
In October, we hosted an open house at our Huntsville office. You helped us collect 145lbs of food for the North Alabama Food Pantry!
In November, we had a great turnout for our open house at our Gadsden office. We also enjoyed attending and sponsoring the HudsonAlpha Tie the Ribbons event.
In December, we celebrated together at our annual team holiday party.
In addition to the community partners mentioned before, we continued our annual support of the United Way of Etowah County.
Thank you for the pleasure to call you our friends. We look forward to serving you in 2019! Best wishes for a spectacular year!
